I attempted to use this product with my 2009 MacBook Pro, but it did not function. It gave a message saying that a USB drive was using too much power, and it disabled the USB port in order to prevent damage to my computer. I followed directions to make the drive appear in Finder, to no avail. The directions had that ESOL feel, as well - not clear, and not even relevant to a Mac. The product looks nice in the photos, it even looks as if it matches a MacBook's aluminum exterior, but it's actually quite flimsy, and made of cheap plastic. I was very disappointed and have had to return the product.
