I'm not exaggerating when I say I spent two days comparing every version of this type of "anxiety donut bed" on Amazon, reading several hundred reviews as I agonized over which one to buy, for good reason-- sadly, our beloved, arthritic, elderly dog's cancer has come back, and while we wait for our appointment with the Oncologist, I wanted to make sure she was extra comfortable, since she's not feeling well. I was grateful this was one of the few options that would fit her (she is well below the weight limit for it) and I ordered it, optimistic that it might be a diversion and a delight for her as she rests. I was so excited when it arrived. I gave thanks to whichever Muppet had been skinned to create such a luxuriously soft bed. I wanted it to be perfect, so I followed their directions carefully and even gave it DOUBLE the time to puff up fully. I wanted to set it up for success. My big fear with these beds wasn't cleaning them-- if it alleviated her pain or brought her some happiness, I would happily drive to a laundromat with industrial washers to care for it. We never even got that far. She slept on it for one night and it looked flatter, but I didn't check it thoroughly. I just thought it was the fur needing a fluff. Last night was her second night, and I couldn't figure out why she was not enthused to lie down, but I assumed it was her arthritis combined with whatever this new tumor is doing. This bed is completely flat. After two nights. She doesn't even sleep all night, due to pain! I'd estimate she spent 12 hours on it, total, over two nights, and the center of it is an inch above my wooden floor. My luxe bath mat would've provided more cushioning or support. The sides are higher, but not by much, and that's pointless anyway if her poor, elderly body is on hard ground. I feel even worse now than I did before buying it. We have an ancient dog bed she loves that we brought with us when we moved cross-country that has more support than this. That bed is seven years old! Now I have to deal with trying to return this worthless thing when I have no time and even less energy. The entire reason I ordered it from this ethically dubious online shopping platform is because I needed to make both of our lives EASIER when I'm struggling with long haul COVID/pneumonia and she has cancer. Instead, I've created another hassle for myself while forcing my ailing, tumor-stricken dog to lie on a hard floor. The only nice thing I can say is that it is truly soft, just sumptuous to the touch. You want to stroke it, the material is irresistibly lush. Other than that, it is garbage. Don't waste your time or money. :(
