These chairs look nice but the quality is sketchy--beware!
I ordered two sets of these chairs. They arrived on time and were packaged well. The first set went together just fine and took about an hour to assemble (breaking through the packaging was a challenge!!). The bottoms of the legs do not have any protection so if you have a wood or tile floor, buy felt coasters and glue them on the bottoms of the legs. This is what we did and the chairs move around on the wood floor perfectly and without damaging it. However, the second set of chairs each had one leg that was too short, causing a significant wobble in each chair. I had to glue two felt coasters on the bottom of one of the legs and three on the other in order to keep the chairs stable. Although there is still a very minor wobble, it is bearable because we really like the chairs. They are comfortable and look good with the table for which they were purchased. They also appeared to be sturdy, but looks were deceiving! However, after about ten days of use, the top seam of the chair pad on the back of one of the chairs started to unravel, and fast. Withing two days, it had unraveled almost all of the way across the chair pad. I contacted Amazon and they facilitated contact with the seller. The seller asked for pictures of the problem and I sent four pictures. I then received an email from the seller stating that they would replace the chair and that it would arrive within five days. Well, within five days I received a very small package that was clearly not a replacement chair. When I opened it, it was a plastic chair seat--and not even the right seat for the chairs that we purchased! I am filing another claim with Amazon for a remedy. I can't return the chairs without replacements available because we won't have anyhting to sit on. 9/1/12--UPDATE: I contacted Amazon for their A to z claim help with getting a replacement chair. As of today, the seller said that I need to send the damaged chair back and then they will issue me a refund. According to the email from Amazon, I'm supposed to disassemble the damaged chair, find a way to package it, and then send a tracking number to the seller through Amazon within 72 hours or Amazon will not help me with satisfying my claim. I DON'T WANT A REFUND--JUST A NEW CHAIR!! Amazon said "too bad" because this is a Marketplace Seller and they can't do anything else to help me. So, I can live with only three chairs at my table and get a refund OR just live with three chairs, one defective chair, and no refund. Either remedy is unacceptable.
