I should have taken the negative reviews more seriously
As someone who shops frequently on Amazon, I have a regular routine of checking a few five star, a few middle of the road, and a few one star reviews to get well rounded feedback before a purchase. Oops.
As the other one star-ers stated, this book has illustrations that are quite dull and washed out and a story to match. They took an adorable concept (a cute little bunny just hopping around the government) and found a way to make it boring. My kids got halfway through listening and asked to hear Dragons Love Tacos instead (check it out, very cute). Some of the proceeds go to charity I think, but I hope this review keeps the next person from repeating my mistake.
I also found out on the radio this afternoon that the book is closely associated with a company that believes gay children should be sent to special camps to force them to live in self-hate, and they even support legislation that would allow private companies and the military to fire someone just for being gay. Seriously, Google it. I couldn’t believe it either. As a Christian, I was mortified that I had accidentally supported that kind of intolerance. As a shopper, I felt betrayed that they sold me a wolf in bunny’s clothing. As an adult, I am annoyed that the authors put their politics into our young people’s reading.
