Not Effective, Not Worth Paying a Premium
Paid a premium for this particular nav device thanks to all the features not available on a 2013 used vehicle. 1. We had hoped my teenager could put the cellphone traffic app away on the commute, while still getting realtime traffic. We were sorely mistaken. Considering the advanced technology available via your smartphone, claiming this has accurate up to the minute traffic is a joke. That part of the device lags terribly. 2. Also advertised is a collision alert warning, which even on the least sensitive setting goes off far too regularly with no collision potential whatsoever. I'm guessing it's a legal concern so they make it extra safe to ensure they're not held liable for any potential crash. 3. The lane departure warning system is borderline useless as it doesn't know when you have a turn signal on, so when you change lanes, it screams and scares the living hell out of you. 4. In addition, to even have those features kind of, sort of work, you need to adjust the camera every time you snap the Nav back into place, which takes a few screens to sort out and around :45 to a minute before you get started. 5. we were so committed we invested the extra $60 in the charger with the "traffic antenna" included, which was even worse than pairing with a cell phone. Overall, if you need a navigation device to show you how to get somewhere, I understand the necessity, but paying extra, and it's a lot extra, for the additional features is a serious waste of money.
