Not what I grew up with.
I was raised in a very traditional Chinese home. We used herbs as medicine growing up, and ginseng was one of them. I have had it in multiple forms. When it was cold out, we would have whole, fresh/dried ginseng with jujube in stews and soup and dried ginseng boiled in water for tea too keep us warm. I distinctly recall the flavor and scent. This is not ginseng, nor do I think it’s a pure extract. It’s cloyingly bitter and acidic (tastes more like dried solvent). Real ginseng has more of a tart licorice note. Real ginseng also has a very musky, warm-spice scent, but this product had no scent at all! I did try it first to see if it had any effects on energy and circulation: there were none! I returned the product for a refund. Better to spend on quality roots instead of wasting on this.
