I took a chance after reading the reviews above that this would be a good microscope. I've had years of working with microscopes in a medical setting so dealing with a microscope is nothing new. Well, looking through this microscope is nothing like the example slides shown in the advertisement. Even on highest light everything is dark and dingy looking. There seems to be a lot of debris on the lens that won't brush away. After noting the same spots on each slide I looked thru the eyepiece without a slide and all those same spots were there. The objectives keep unscrewing during use. I thought this was causing the darkness on the slides but after tightening the screw for the fourth time, I've decided the lack of clear magnification even with the bottom LED on high and brightness switch turned all the way up isn't worth the price paid for this instrument. This isn't the microscope for me and it will be returned. Warning, you get what you pay for and this was inexpensive. I'm still going to buy a microscope and will be looking at a higher end model from the same company but this one is very basic and does not have good focus or clear magnification.
