Did y'all actually read this book?
I really do not understand these reviews. 53 reviews and most of them exceptional. I can't help but feel that we read different books. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but I seriously cannot believe that no one found the same problems in this book that I did.
Even aside from the general stiff and stilted writing, this book falls into so many of the erotic romance cliches that they literally detract from the read; Yes, of course, Chloe is supernaturally gorgeous such that after knowing her for 48 hours Chase cannot help but fall deeply in love. Yes, of course, Chase is exceptionally gorgeous and perfect and well-mannered and OF COURSE every man in his family is equally gorgeous. Where are these families? Where in reality are the professions of six brothers as follows: Winery owner, movie star, famous star photographer, major league baseball player, and fireman?
But even that can be overlooked when the writing and story is good. This is not. It appears to have been written by a teenage girl. Case in point: During a particularly steamy make-out session, Chloe's internal dialogue states "For a moment, she knew how a vampire must feel, how hard it must have been for Edward not to sink his teeth into Bella's sweet flesh..." Um, seriously? I would have thrown the book against a wall at this point, but, then, my kindle would have broken.
So, no. Just no.
