UPDATE: our plumber came today and rodded our drain in the hopes of pushing the ShowerShroom into the main sewage pipes (which are 4 inches wide), since there is no way of pulling it out. It cost us $460. That is one super expensive hair catcher, and we can't even get refund on the ShowerShroom itself. So, I repeat, do not buy this product. Save yourself the money and headache. Very bad design. The small plastic bar across the top does NOT prevent it from getting flushed down the drain when taking a shower. We had it for over a month, and the plastic just started to get softer and softer until last week while taking a shower, it got flushed down the drain. Now we scheduled a plumber to come and get it out so it doesn't lead to a bigger clog in the future. In retrospect, we should have returned this item, as soon as we questioned the design of it. Not only have we paid for something we can't return, doesn't work, and cause us to spend over $100 for a plumber to get it out. Now we need to look for another hair catcher that is properly designed.
