I ordered this device because it was a best seller with good ratings, and it was newer than other models offered. The first one I received was dead on arrival. I tried in on two machines, and it never responded. I could not even load a disc into it. Amazon handled the return and replacement well. I have used the replacement unit to rip 4 audio CDs. The first ripped successfully, but at a very slow speed, over ten minutes to rip the disc. The second ripped as expected. The third was much like the first. The fourth was not recognized by the device. I tried reinserting multiple times. I tried multiple USB ports. No difference. I took the disc to a ten-year-old desktop where its DVD-RW drive ripped the CD successfully in under five minutes. Don't waste your money on this unit.
