First impressions were decent. Last impressions were not. Packaging was done very well, and the screen itself was well protected during shipping. Unboxing was really easy, after cutting the straps with the top up, you just lift up the box exposing the tv. Set-up was a bit annoying. I don't like fact that I need to register it, make and sign into a Samsung account, and provide a ton of personal information to the manufacturer. That being said, I got through it eventually and made it to my "home screen". Samsung includes this limited and weird generic "cable package" that doesn't include anything most would consider watching. This is basically what loads up when you turn the TV on, as well as the menu interface which is absolutely terriblely designed, which brings me to my next point. The amount of horrendous bloatware that is installed on this smart TV blows me away. This is not like Samsung, at least not like their TV's. What you'd think would be a smooth minimalistic GUI turns out to be a convoluted and locked down interface. There is no way to remove any of the apps they have on the "quick access" bar, or add any to it that you downloaded from their abismal app store. This isn't even close to being the worst of it. The worst part about this purchase, the reason I regret it entirely, is the defective operating system and network reciever. After one day of using this television, I went to turn it on - and nothing. It did in fact turn on, I was able to navigate the GUI, but it was entirely disconnected from the internet and wasn't picking up my WiFi networks even though my router was directly next to it, the TV was essentially soft-locked. I rely 100% on the smart TV to provide content via it's apps, but how am I to do that when I'm now unable to connect to the internet? It wouldn't even connect by manually entering in my IP and network info, or by clicking the WPS button on my router. Nothing worked, short of performing a factory reset and being forced to input all my personal/account information for a second time - which is a 15 minute process I've now done 4 times. The picture quality is decent and the black uniformity is pretty good for it's panel price range, but NOTHING will make up for the torturous process I have to go through every other day when I turn on the TV (the soft-lock happens every 1-2 days). This is a widely spread and known issue that I only became aware of after doing some research for a solution - to which there is none. Do yourself a favor and do your own research before you consider purchasing this TV.
