Reviews work
This is not a review of the pan, but a response to the pan reviews. I too, saw the infomercial today and was about to order when I thought of checking my fav review site, Amazon. WOW.
A quick look at the ratings shows 4 1/2 stars. So far so good. Than a closer review of those comments. After the first 10 very negative reviews, I wondered how they had a 4 1/2 star average. I had to scroll approx 4 pages to get to the first 5 star review (ignoring the 1 positive reviewer who only made eggs).
That first 5 star review was so wordy and extensive that it looked like in infomercial by itself....obviously a paid or company generated review. Especially detailing trivial information about the company that the casual user would NEVER include in a review. Looked to me like they got paid by the word since the review is so lengthy. The old Shaksperian phrase "me thinks the lady protest TOO much" applies here except change the word "protest" to "praises".
However, I do not agree with the reviewer which stated Amazon's culpability in promoting the product. They are simply running a business, and unless a product is dangerous or illegal, really can't be held accountable for product claims. It's up to us, the users, to let others know about a products real or fake reliability.
I have purchased many products on Amazon that are better than 5 star rated, only due to my diligence in reading reviews and filtering out the BS from the truth. My thanks to all the reviewers who put the brakes on my potential purchase of an obviously inferior product. We need to stay vigilant and look out for each other. Thanks guys
