Good for Occasional & Casual Use but Not Recommended for the Massage Professional
This table is okay for the casual user, but it is not a good purchase for a massage professional. I would've given it 3 stars for that use, but I can only give it 2 stars since it is touted unrealistically as a "Professional" table. It isn't sturdy enough, and it is a liability to use with paying clients. For one, the knob on the face cradle slips, no matter how much I tighten it. Twice, I've have it slip with a client's face in the cradle. That alone could've caused a serious neck injury. The feet on the legs do not seem to be rubber, and are not non-skid. So unless you're working on a carpeted surface, the table will scoot across the floor as you work on your client. Also, though the table is rated to hold up to 450 pounds (Remember, this is the combined weight of the client plus the pressure you're putting on them), it seemed wobbly whenever I had anyone on it who weighed 150 pounds or more. Furthermore, the padding mashed in to the shape of the client, and stayed there for a while after the massage was over, which was weird when I had another session immediately afterward. The "arm sling" hangs from the face cradle bars--It is not sturdy, and it's a joke, as are the arm extensions that slip into the side of the table. The one time I used those, one of them fell out of the holes when the client simply repositioned his arms. I originally was delighted that this table was so light, but the drawbacks to that are obvious. I have another table that I spent $800 on about 12 years ago, and it is very sturdy, but it's also quite heavy. The upholstery was showing some wear and tear, so that is why I bought this one---so that I would have a back up while I sent my good table to the manufacturer to be reupholstered (to meet the terms of my insurance as a massage therapist). Unless you're purchasing this for occasional use, it's better to spend the money to get a good table that will last, one that is reliable and very sturdy. Furthermore, if you get a table that is wide enough, you don't need the extra doo-hickeys like the arm sling, face hole in the body of the table, and the arm extensions--Those things may make this sound more attractive, but if you've been doing massage for any length of time, you know that those things are unnecessary and even silly.
