I don’t usually leave reviews, but since this product landed my dog in the hospital, I thought I should this time. We’ve used Advantix II for years now, after Frontline started failing us. I’m not sure if this was a bad batch or what, but the day after using this on my American Bulldog he was really sick. He wouldn’t get up, he wouldn’t eat or drink, when I finally did get him up he didn’t want to walk. His whole body was shaking and he kept his tail so far up between his legs. We ended up taking him to the vet, and although they felt a reaction was unlikely, they did a tox screen anyway. Sure enough, there were high levels of the poison in his blood. The vet agreed that he was having a really bad reaction to the advantix and sent us home with a muscle relaxer for our dog and said to give him a few days. It’s been almost two weeks and my dog is still suffering. He went from being lively and playful to laying in his dog house all day. He doesn’t come when called, he won’t fetch, he rarely wags his tail, and he could care less about the chickens. It’s heartbreaking to see him like this and we’re basically helpless when it comes to fixing him. This stuff is obviously too toxic.
