iphone owners STAY AWAY...FATAL FLAW
Let me just start by saying I had two pair of the previous model and absolutely loved them, except for one little thing. The ridiculous control they put on them. Do we really need a control on our headphones with our phone right there? It got in the way. It shook when I ran. It was beyond annoying. But its saving grace was that it could be removed. They made the cord in two parts so that you could unplug the headphones from the longer cord with the control on the end. Since I ran with an armband, I had just enough cord to get to my phone and I was good to go, free from the ridiculous heavy controller they put on there that no one really needs. Okay, now let's fast forward to this model. I was so excited to get it, until I actually got it and saw that this time the control could not be removed. Not only that, but they placed it much higher up, so it's actually hanging a few inches below the earphones and there is literally no way to stop it from swinging. I had to pull the cord down the back of my shirt and keep some tension on it to hold it against the back of my neck. But even that I could somewhat deal with since the sounds of these are so incredible and the control itself is much lighter than the previous version. However, here's the FATAL FLAW: something about the headphones and I'm assuming it is the controller - i'm not sure what, maybe swinging, maybe sweat getting into it - leads to it activating Siri randomly throughout my runs. There is nothing I can do to stop it. It never fails. I've gone into the settings and shut off Siri from activating when the screen is locked, but the headphone jack will still activate it. I get about 15-20 minutes into my run before it starts happening, which is why I think it has something to do with sweat getting into the controller, but it has happened every single time I've run and it is completely unusable. What a complete waste of $80. I know it is the headphones because when I run with other headphones I don't have the issue. Why, oh why, couldn't they just release a barebones version that doesn't have that stupid, useless, annoying controller on it. Bye-bye $80. If you own an iphone and run more than 20 minutes with it, save yourself from flushing $80 down the toilet and buy the older model.
