Our Diaper Genie Elite broke... and since that was discontinued this seemed like a reasonable replacement. Boy were we in for a disappointment! 1) It holds maybe a quarter of the diapers of the Elite. Sure, it looks like it's about the same size, but as soon as there's more than can be delicately suspended mid-air in the center of the pail, it ceases to accept more. 2) The cutter for the bags and bag dispenser does not pivot, requiring you to crouch down and fiddle with it, at which point a dirty diaper the machine has been secretly cheeking will invariably dislodge onto you. 3) Approximately 1 out of 5 times you will place a dirty diaper in the machine, it will remain peeking at you, out of its first stomach, with the lid wide open. A few gentle pushes of the pedal will usually solve this, unless... 4) Periodically, the insides of the machine just discombobulate and it ceases to open altogether. There's a plastic piece with holes and another plastic piece with pegs and they stop being friends and you have to take the thing apart and convince them to touch each other again... No wonder Elites are running for $150 new/$75 used on auction sites. I hope a product manager gets fired over this. Out of a cannon. Into the sun.
