I have been using a Russell Hobbs kettle for years and years so when it quit last week I ordered another. I just received it today and what a disappointment. The stainless is MUCH thinner than my last kettle and it is a lot louder when heating up. The second HUGE disappointment was the giant plastic bulb that backs up the temperature gauge. What were you thinking?? Who wants to boil water every morning in a stainless tea kettle that has HUGE piece of plastic in it. I mean come on. Why go with stainless then? You obviously don't understand the market. Just a simple stainless backing with a rubber washer would have worked perfectly well. It is easy enough to remove the OTHER pieces of plastic, like the red cup gauge and I never use the filter, I don't put tea in the kettle I use a pot to make the tea. I don't know Russell Hobbs. I am sorry I will be sending this back.
