Disgusting book with despicable protagonist
I really don't want to take the time to write this review. Except I thought maybe I could save perhaps one or two others from an awful piece of trash. Thomas Prescott, unfortunately the "hero" of what has been turned into a series of which I will never read another book, is an amoral a------e. His lunatic "sense of humor" is completely without wit or wisdom and almost universally out of place. His bloody scenarios chop up his victims into more pieces than a Cuisinart and are described in relentlessly gory and unsparing detail. I made it about half way through the book and realized that I was hoping that another character would seize a handgun and blow his brains out before I turned one more page. If you love blood, mindless violence, chopped up children, arrogant and inane humor masquerading as a kind of cool, and totally gratuitous mayhem, maybe this book is for you. If so, welcome to Mr. Pirog. I'm done with him.
