The product works as advertised for about 20, maybe 25 use cycles at or below 390 deg. before it begins shedding some of the protective coating on the pan surrounding the fryer basket. At the time of writing, the fryer basket still appears intact, but the accessory grill pan I also purchased, fared less well and also started to lose its protective coating. In the case of the pan surrounding the fryer basket, the coating did not directly come in contact with any food touching the basket, but I may have inadvertently ingested the grill pan accessory coating after it began shedding the coating.
