This product should indicate that this is not for Direct Injection Engines that are used in newer cars. Direct injection cars do not inject fuel in such a way that will pass the engine valves. Since this product is added to the fuel this will not touch the gunk on valves in a direct injection engine. Double check whether you have a Direct injection or Port Injection engine.
