From reading the reviews, I was expecting to have my socks knocked off by this product. I'm underwhelmed. I've been natural for over 20 years, I can't really tell you what my exact hair type is, but its somewhere between 3C and 4C except it is not that dense, and is really soft, and has a hard time keeping a curl shape on its own. I have pretty good hair routine down. I actually haven't used a proper brush in over a decade, as I find anything aside from my fingers to be inadequate at de-tangling. But, I figured what they hell. I can't say I regret my purchase, but if I could do it over I wouldn't. Here are some pros and cons from my perspective. Pros: - Using the brush with conditioner/product on the hair does gives you good definition, better than with finger de-tangling for sure. -Easy to clean. When you use your hands your hair gets stuck in your fingers and by using the brush you avoid that annoyance. Cons: -Slippery AF. I feel like who ever produces this should do some more R&D on materials. When you hand is covered in conditioner and you use this brush, I basically cannot hold it without it slipping out of your hand. Instead I have to hold the brush close to the bristles which basically means the bristles can't move freely defeating the whole purpose of the brush. I feel like some silicone grips for just the handle, or just producing the the whole brush aside from the bristles in a different, less slippery material would go a long way. - Does not make de-tangling for me any faster. As I said I've been at the natural game for some time, so I am really fast with the finger de-tangle. This slowed things down considerably, especially given the slippery nature of the handle. Hope this helps. If you are new to the natural world this product may help by making you feel like at least people are making things with us in mind. But honestly I would not leave the finger de-tangle for this brush.
