Fire Hazard and Warranty Nightmare
Bought October 2018. Worked for the three months I used it. Prepping motorhome for a trip now in April. Turned the fan on to test. Smoke billowed out setting off the smoke detector. Fan still runs but disabling the auto temperature requires restarting the fan power. Now have a fire hazard in my roof but AirXCel isn't concerned about that; they want me to start troubleshooting components.
-------------
Now dealing with customer service; someone kill me now! They won't just swap out the damn thing so I can get on the roof once and be done with a replacement; they're making me do their troubleshooting for them part by part.
Make sure if you try to use their submission from online. If you hit send and there's an error what you put in the form isn't cached so you have to type the whole thing over.
And their voicemail system; designed to make you give up. There is only one option concerning warranty support and that's only for if you already have a warranty claim filed and it goes to some woman's phone that is never in the office.

Support agreed to replace the parts. As you can see in the photo that's how many parts have to be removed to get the motor and PC board out of the fan. There are housing parts that must be removed as well, not shown. You also have to disconnect the power wires and unplug a line from the sensor to the PC board and another plug to the board itself. So you're looking at a couple of hours minimum repairing the fan and several days in between waiting on the parts to arrive.
Yes, they did honor the warranty and they are providing repair parts.
But, they could have sent the main housing that has all these parts installed and it would only take the removal and replacement of four screws and power line disconnect/reconnect. That would probably take about 15 minutes. How a company thinks this is quality customer service is beyond me.
I have another, older MaxxFan in the rear of the coach that needs replacing. I think I'm going to give another vendor a try for that one. Maybe a FanTastic Fan or something. I'm not providing financial support for AirExcel any more.
