I bought this in May 2014. It stopped working in August 2014. It doesn't detect any DVD or CD. It says first "the disk cannot be played; please check disk"; then it says there is no disk. This happens with all region DVDs and CDs. It makes a high pitched sound and sounds like it is searching. Up until that time it worked just fine, although I didn't really like the remote controller. The USB port still works, although the quality of the photos aren't as good as on the computer. None of the package inserts are in English. Tech support appears non-existent and the return to Amazon date has passed. Update1: I contacted the seller, who responded after one day. He said the tech person would return on "Monday". On Thursday, still no response. Update 2: I got this response from the seller: Hello, The only way we can try to see if it will work is if you send us the unit. There is no guarantee that we can get it to work but we will try our best. The cost to and from to do this may almost end up to be the cost of a new dvd player. Regards, VCT TEAM
