Who programmed this display?
While this has all the features I was looking for (radio, CD, bluetooth, AUX), the display drives me absolutely nuts. When you glance at your stereo, what would you expect to see? The time, maybe? Well sure, this has a clock. But you have to push the clock button to display the time. And after 5 seconds it switches back to telling you which input is selected. Thanks BOSS, I really needed to know that I am, in fact, still listening to the radio. "Surely there's a way to change this behavior," you might say to me. A very reasonable assumption! Sadly, if there is it's known only to god and the person who was supposed to put it in the manual, but didn't.
This gem from page 5 of the manual should tell you all you need to know about the quality of electronics you're looking at here:
"During Bluetooth mode, the clock can not be adjusted."
To add insult to injury, the display has a fake audio visualizer at the bottom that is constantly flashing. Does it flash in time to your music? Nope. Just a constant blink-blink-blink-blink-blink no matter what you're listening to, be it talk radio, sports, or music. "Surely there's a w-" nope. Sorry to cut you off, but no, as hard to believe as it might be in this quality of stereo, the fake visualizer isn't even mentioned in the manual, much less a way to turn the accursed thing off.
Finally, I would complain that the CD player doesn't work, but that gives me the perfect excuse to return it and spend a few more bucks on a stereo that won't give me an aneurysm.
