We purchased the older version when my daughter was three years old. She is 8 1/2 and still has it! She received this for Christmas and loves it. But it got dropped on the wood floor in the battery compartment came off. There is a piece that holds the battery compartment on and it has a screw on it. Unfortunately that piece broke as well. So it is unusable without this piece. This was less than 90 days after we had received the camera. I wrote the company and they said that they cannot refund or replace my order even though it has been less than 90 days. They also said they do not have a spare part I can purchase for this camera because it is a store exclusive. So this toy lasted less than 90 days for an 8 1/2 child. This is absolutely ridiculous for a camera that is made "for children". So I do not recommend this product unless you intend on never ever dropping it. I have also included the company's response, so you can see where they say "dropping the toy may affect it". So again, if you or your child drops this toy camera meant for a child then it is tough luck on your part. I hope this helps.
