Newer tiles are terrible!!! I had 6 original tiles and loved them. At one year, ordered 4 replacements (max replacements I could order at the discount replacement price). I was surprised when the slightly smaller tiles arrived with a note that told me although I had ordered the original tiles, I had been upgrades to the smaller tiles. Smaller tiles are terrible. I could hold my phone in one hand searching and hold the tiles on the other and they would not locate or make noise. Then randomly they would locate when I wasn't searching for them. This is a problem because it made my phone chime at randomly bad times. I requested to receive the original ones I ordered multiple times and customer service only gave me trouble shooting links. If it were one tile having trouble I could understand but all 4! This is obviously a time when a company took a great product and made it cheaper at the cost of the customer. Poor customer service, they took my money and did not deliver the product I paid for. It is now time for me to replace these four and guess what, I am now so use to them not working I have learned to get along without them and will not be ordering replacements. I highly recommend researching all blue tooth tracker options before buying a tile.
