I placed a nine pound puppy in this (size L) and the first thing she did was jump on the side as I walked away, turn it on to it's side, where it became a giant hamster wheel. I bought it as a play pen for her while we were working on house training. She turned it on its side instantly and repeatedly. Perhaps if you plan on only using this outside where you can stake it down into the ground this will work. Any live animal that's not already too lethargic or well behaved to consider moving from the spot you placed it will have this thing on it's side in an instant if it isn't staked down.
