The One Where I'd Call Selfish Becky Tries Hollywood
I've been a huge fan of the Shopaholic series for over 10 years. Even Mini Shopaholic, which I wasn't too keen on, was bearable. I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed I was with Shopaholic To The Stars. I enjoy ditzy Becky and her hare-brained schemes but this instalment just made her a bloomin' idiot. She was portrayed to be incredibly selfish in the book and even after she's older, married, has a daughter, she seemed to have become even more of a child here. The abrupt ending was bad. It felt as though the author was rushing the book to end and then lo and behold, let's do a cliffhanger! I've never been able to put down any of the Shopaholic books. I used to need to read them from cover to cover in one sitting. I struggled with this one and wasn't interested to continue. I finally finished it in 5 days, which I've never, ever done with any of Sophie Kinsella's books. Sorry to say, this one was really disappointing. I don't hate it but I really don't like it.
