DO NOT Buy this Faucet!! NEVER AGAIN from Moen.
This faucet seems great for the first few months but then the design flaws start to raise their ugly little heads. The handle loosens, continually droops and then starts to leak (better hope you're at home when that happens). Who was sleeping at Moen and didn't longterm test this in their QC dept? It only works if you never use it. So, you call Moen and ask for a replacement since after all it is under warranty, right? Instead they tell you but sir, it's fine, you just have to either hire or become a DIY plumber, find a tiny set screw, loosen it, disassemble everything inside and then retighten it back down. You spend a couple of hours gyrating to find the hidden set screw (get your mirror and light and be prepared to assume contortionist positions with your body) take it all apart and put it all back together. Nice and snug again. For a few weeks, then it loosens again. By design it will never be right. Is this why you pay Moen three or four times what other, better designed faucets cost? Check out the Amazon exclusive Kraus KPF2250 at way less money (however, read my update on this one below). Did you pick Moen so you can have peace of mind or the Moen run around on their 'warranty' phone line? Be prepared for no peace of mind, lots of run around and failure to take responsibility. Moen MSRP's these cheap things at over $400, yet when they don't work they refuse to replace them (I certainly would not want another one of these anyway) or refund what you paid for them. That's not a warranty but it is yet another corporation refusing to do the right thing and choosing profits over customer satisfaction. Why support them? JUST ADDED: Check out this photo. The faucet started leaking heavily today and this time not from the on/off handle but the pull out hose, which we hardly ever pulled out. Eighteen months later, this is how the Moen quality held up. 2016 UPDATE: The Kraus I mentioned above was for a rental we have and the taped on fake finish didn't really hold up. However, I do want to add that we ended up getting this faucet from Amazon and have had it for almost a year now with absolutely zero issues, which is the way it should be: American Standard 4175.300.075 Colony Soft Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet. LATE 2016 UPDATE: Unfortunately the American Standard started leaking at the cartridge too and it was replaced with a Delta Faucet 9178-AR-DST Leland Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with Magnetic Docking. So far, so good.
