I have been buying Lakanto products for years and I love their monkfruit sugar sweeteners and cannot praise them highly enough. But something went terribly wrong with the syrup. It does have a faint bitterness to it. If you are a clean eater, you will likely taste something that is more along the lines of what can only be described as poison. It has a chemical taste that will ruin anything you use the syrup on. I wanted to love this syrup. I really did. But, if you are not used to a lot of additives in food or have sensitive taste buds, you may find yourself tossing this out like I did. The artificial flavor is not one of maple, but one that has an overwhelming toxic taste. I hope the company changes the flavoring, because if they did, I would certainly buy it.
