Beware! Headphone remote not designed for moisture
I really wanted to like these headphones. I bought them to replace a set of Jaybirds that had died after ~5 years of regular use, and was tired of fidgeting them back in my ears, and was attracted to these by the reviews that suggested they stay in place. I bought them, and apart from sweat in the gym took really good care of them (wiped them down after workouts, used the handy included case, never threw them in my bag by themselves, never dropped them).
The good news: they do mostly stay in place if you twist them right, although I still found the earbud would occasionally not stay plugged in. However, I really enjoyed the sound quality, especially the bass; perfect for working out. For the first ~2 weeks, that is.
The bad news: after 2 weeks of use, like many others, the headphone remote started malfunctioning. Buttons wouldn't respond sometimes, and other times the volume would change itself. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning them, and otherwise enjoyed them, so I dealt with this mostly by controlling the music from my iPhone.
The terrible news: The headphone remote came apart after a workout! If you look at the photo, the two halves of the remote are simply glued together with no waterproofing. This explains the remote malfunction that so many people see. This is extremely disappointing, I bought these this year under the advertisement it was designed for sweat, but they're clearly not.
I have to go return these to an Apple Store now and am really hoping they'll give me credit or cash back, because unless these are redesigned, I don't see how they can hold up under any kind of regular fitness use. Too bad, because I liked how they looked and sounded.
