OK, it is a roller and it does feel good to roll my back, calves and hamstrings on it. I did that without the help of the DVD that comes with it to teach you how to use it properly. Here's the problem: The DVD and the roller are not made for one another. The instructor uses a 36 inch roller and, if you ordered one of these, you have an 18" roller. So when you try and do what the instructor does, it doesn't always work out. So if you can contract your arms and legs to the widths the instructor goes to in half the space, you'll love the DVD. If not, you'll be like me--disappointed that you bought one thing and got instructions for another.
