The materials on the cat tree are great. The tree does not connect very securely. There is only one small screw connecting each of the parts of the tree, leaving it quite wobbly. The "stairs" won't connect at all because the tab on which the stairs should connect is placed incorrectly, is much too small, and it would not hold the stairs in a secure enough fashion that a cat could walk on it. After I tried to connect it, i was able to make it come apart with just a little pressure from my hand. I am glad that my cats are relatively small....any cat larger than about 12 pounds would likely cause the platforms to fall. If you buy this product, go to the hardware store and buy much larger bolts, tabs, and screws so your babies can play in safety!
