Prismacolor seriously makes the best colored pencils on earth, I buy them frequently and they're the only colored pencils I use. They are pricey but worth every penny. My problem was with the shipping, when you tap the soft core pencils (or any pencil for that matter) on any surface, even your desk, you risk breaking the lead inside. When that happens the pencils tip breaks everytime you attempt to sharpen it. This isn't a problem I've had with Prismacolors purchased from art supply stores (and I take my own care not to rough up my pencils)- I purchased this kit because the price was really good, but they arrived in a small box with little packing material, and I was slightly concerned that the lead would break when sharpened. That's exactly what happened, all the shaking, bumping and whatever from the shipping process caused them to break constantly when sharpened (frustrating to watch your money go into the trash as you sharpen and re-sharpen a pencil over and over). My advice is that the product is great, colors are vibrant and amazing and great for your colored pencil needs. But like anything you value, make sure you treat them well and that they arrive to you having received the same care, otherwise the money saved isn't worth it at all.
