First use was fine.... Then this happened.
I dislike leaving negative reviews for companies based here in America. I feel like we should support those companies and any chance I have an opportunity to support them I will choose them over a foreign product. So its with regret I submit this review and wish I could leave a 5 star rating, however in light of what happened to not only myself, but both of my sons AND my wife, I feel like I should warn others about the dangers of this product. Before I purchased this Aloe I read a lot of the positive reviews on here and the very few negative ones. The negative ones tended to be about having a weird smell and more importantly, people who reacted poorly to it by breaking out in a rash. And THAT is what this review is about. All 4 of us had a terrible rash shortly after applying this product to our bodies which you can see by the photos I've included. Resulting not only in screaming by our 2 children but an ER visit for all 4 of us to reduce the swelling and skin reaction. Our youngest son had difficulty breathing as well. (probably because we put it on his cheeks)
The physicians gave all of us shots of Benadryl and our youngest they gave him something else to ease his suffering. Not that we all weren't hurting, he was just screaming from it all. I can't tell you how terrified I was for my children and the absolutely horrible ordeal we went through.
I have a hard time believing the Aloe itself caused any of this because we have used Aloe products before (usually for sunburn) and have had no reaction. So I'm guessing something else they put in this caused these outbreaks. I can not in good faith recommend this to anyone. If it were just me maybe I could have guessed I was allergic to it and maybe even go on to stretch that my two sons had reactions as well because they carry my genes. But to ALSO have my wife react along with the 3 of us just seems like whatever is in this should not be applied to anyone's skin.
I can tell you for now on I will read negative reviews for future products and not discount what the people are saying in them. And often times I will even gloss over when there are so many positive reviews for a particular product, as is the case with this one. Which frankly makes me wonder how true and accurate all those positive reviews actually are. I hope for future people looking to purchase this, see this review and seriously consider if it is worth the risk. If you do still purchase it, I would HIGHLY recommend you try it in a small area first and see if you react. It only took about 5 minutes before the first signs appeared and only about 10 minutes to have the full on-set rash break out.
Be sure to check out the photos which should give you an idea of how bad this got. I only posted mine because i don't want to put my kids photos on here. I would steer clear of this aloe. I wish it weren't like this, as I want American companies to succeed but there is no way anyone should be putting this on their skin if it is going to cause reactions like this.
Good luck.
