Nowhere in the description it says you need the plug the clock into an outlet. You realize this when you open the battery compartment. You see a sign saying: USE AC ADAPTER AS MAIN POWER SOURCE. BATTERIES ARE FOR BACK UP POWER AMD TO RETAIN RECORDS IN CASE OF A POWER OUTAGE. BATTERIES ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR DISPLAY OPERATION. With only batteries clock does not lit up. You see a very faint background with black numbers on it. You can't see anything from a distance, everything fades away. You can't see anything if you look at the clock from an angle no matter what distance you are from the clock. So you need to plug it in to see it and to make it work fully functional. If you want to see a dangling power cord when you hang this on a wall then buy it. otherwise no. Misleading information.Please see pictures and video.
