I was excited to use this crate because it's a downsize from the one a friend gave me, and I thought perhaps my pup needed a smaller space to feel more comfortable. On the contrary, she figured out how to unlatch the crate and open the door on the first day she'd used it--and it's a very unpleasant feeling coming home to find your crated puppy running freely through the house. I set up a camera to record her and stepped out for a moment; not even four minutes later she had managed to escape again. The latch has a fairly prominent "handle" that a dog can slap through the space between the bars. If the dog hits it with enough force, the latch will lift up enough to allow the door to swing open. Once she did this the first time, the crate became utterly useless and unusable.
