Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

Not sure I want my six-year-old reading this series after reading the books myself first, just to see what all the fuss is about. The protagonist repeatedly announces his hatred for school and demeans his female peers. Additionally, these books are filled with words I wish my son wouldn't say, like "stupid" "dumbhead" "shut-up" etc. etc. I imagine children find the series comical/ entertaining/ likeable, and the books ARE easy to read after all. But I cannot in good conscience endorse them. I want my son to love school and learning, and reading this series will, I fear, give him the exact wrong impression.
