"Free Extended Warranty" redemption is obfuscated
The only reason I'm giving this a low rating is because the included warranty is seemingly impossible to redeem. Amazon sent me an email after purchasing this, with a redemption code inside and instructions to "please visit the SquareTrade detail page within 30 days of the date of this email and add the Warranty to your Cart." No link, no explanation of what "the SquareTrade detail page" is. Seriously, an HTML email about a purely electronic transaction between two tech-savvy internet companies, and they did not put a single link or anything more descriptive than that. It seems like they are relying on making it difficult so that people won't redeem their warranty coverage. Pretty shady.
So I go to the SquareTrade site, and look for Kindle warranties, I find only the generic "tablet/ereader" and add the lowest one to my cart. The price does not match the $19.99 of the warranty as it appears on the Amazon page; it only shows a $39.99 option. OK, I think, I'll try it and see what the redemption code does for me. Well, I "add it to my cart," an put in the promotional code, and it simply says "invalid coupon."
So as far as I can tell, I'm totally out one warranty. Amazon, get your act together on this. Send customers who purchase this a link with the transaction numbers embedded in it so that it just works. What am I supposed to do now?
