I usually don’t write negative book reviews because I understand how much of one’s heart and soul goes into the writing process. This is going to be the exception. The reason for the negative review is the nonchalant depictions of incest, rape, and childhood sexual abuse. If you are going to use these themes, you better make sure it leaves a powerful impact on the destruction and damage it physically, emotionally and psychologically causes the abused. It this book, it was just a casual theme thrown in the mix almost normalizing it as acceptable. We have enough of this in society and in Hollywood, we don’t need more. This book is also boring. Really boring. I kept waiting for it to go somewhere but it never did. I kept waiting for a plot twist, never happened.
