I guess I fall under the PT Barnum sucker status. I got played.....
First off, the spray bottle for the RMR 86 seems to be defective. Had to empty the contents and use my own spray bottle. I had several new ones on hand so no huge deal but it was disappointing from the start After being disappointed with the product bottle I decided to give the product a go around the house, inside and out. Seemed to work well for shower areas with light mold and did see the mold disappear in seconds, well more like about 1-2 minutes. Other areas with at least medium mold staining needed multiple applications and manual agitation to see desired results. The smell was strong but that was as expected. Just be sure to ventilate areas well and observe all safety precautions.
Happened to go to my local pool supply store to have our pool water checked and asked the tech about sodium hypochlorite and if he heard of RMR 86. I had looked up the SDS for RMR 86. It has a concentrate of sodium hypochlorite of between 5-6%. I bought a bottle of sodium hypochlorite with a 10.5% concentrate at the pool supply store for $4.99. Got home and mixed it at 50/50 with water and it was a night and day difference compared to RMR 86.. I had some medium/heavy areas left after I used up my RMR 86. The results were even better than RMR 86 on comparable areas with the light mold areas. How is that if my ratio was what RMR 86 has listed in their SDS? Actually my ratio was 5.25% Was my 32 ounce container of RMR 86 stale or extended beyond its shelf life or just too heavily diluted. Unless the company can demonstrate that there is something else other than sodium hypochlorite and water (the “other” ingredient) in their 32 ounce spray bottle to account for the heavy price tag....I guess I fall under the PT Barnum sucker status. I got played.....
