This is awful!
This chair was a horrible experience. I tore a ligament in my foot and could no longer stand to shower. I ordered those thinking it would be an easy way for me to be able to shower by myself. Wrong! In putting it together, I had to leave one of the arms off of it otherwise it was impossible to sit on it from outside of the tub. There was simply no way to get to it with the arm in the way. It was very difficult to remove the arm after it had already been attached, also. The arm should be made to be extremely easy to detach and reattach, so that one can get on the chair, turn around to face forward, and then reattach the arm to have something to hold onto. The other problem? It barely fits in my tub. I don't have an especially small tub, it is a standard size. But this barely fits, and the feet do not fit snugly on the bottom. As a result, the chair is not at all sturdy. The first time I used it, I leaned against the back of the chair and the whole thing almost toppled over backwards. Pretty scary at any time, but especially when you only have use of one foot and are already very vulnerable! I've used it since then, but have learned to use it more towards the front of the chair and only lean forward, never backward. I still do not feel safe in it. However, it was really difficult for me to put together by myself when I cannot stand, so I've been dealing with it the best I can rather than trying to get a different one. Although now I have a HUGE problem as a result of this!!! I'm starting to heal up, and moved the chair to wipe down the tub beneath it. Guess what? There are now two holes in my fiberglass tub. I have one of those all in one units that is a tub and shower walls combined made of fiberglass. Never had a problem with it before. The feet in the back of this have punched holes into the bottom of my tub. I'm still trying to figure out a way to temporarily fix this and stop water from leaking into my crawlspace. I haven't yet been able to get someone out here to look at it, since I just noticed this last night after about a month or so of use. But I'm freaking out about the damage! I have no idea what the damage might be to the wood floor underneath the tub, if it's rotted from all the water that must have leaked through. But I already know that it's going to be hundreds perhaps over $1000 for me to replace the tub because I don't think you can repair fiberglass. Really freaking out that the stupid chair has done this and caused this type of damage, and of course I'm sure this company is not going to pay for the damage their chair caused me.
