Excited about the book--disappointed at the appropriated idea
I just received my copy of this book, which I was super-excited about. Then I learned that the book's editors have usurped an idea taken largely from one person's social media IDs and posts. And that author is a black woman named Tangerine Jones. Why in the world didn't Simon and Schuster research the phrase "Rage Baking" to see how it lives in social media and who's been largely responsible for coining it? Why didn't someone contact Tangerine Jones and invite her to be in the book? If the answers are "we didn't know about it," then my question is why do we trust Simon and Schuster as a publisher?????? I'm a firm believer in sharing ideas widely and without compensation to let creatively flourish, but really, Simon and Shuster, y'all didn't think it might be a good idea to dig into this a bit? I'm returning my copy, sadly, and I encourage the Publishers to issue a second edition that includes Tangerine Jones as a co-editor.
