UPDATED REVIEW: I changed my review from 5 stars to 1 star. If you order one of these, check it very carefully as soon as it arrives. I loved this little desk but after using it for one month I noticed that one of the hinges was loose. After looking carefully I saw that the top of the box where the hinge is attached was cracked. This crack did not happen after I got it or even in shipping. The crack was there when the desk was stained, which is why it was so hard for me to see it at first. If it weren't right where the hinge was screwed into the top, I wouldn't mind, but I'm afraid that it will completely break off in the future. The seller wants me to pay to ship it back, which would be quite a bit, so I guess I will keep it and hope that it doesn't break completely in that spot. ----------------------------------- I wanted something to hold my note paper, plus pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, index cards, etc. This lap desk is just perfect. And, it looks just like an antique writing desk. It is very well made, sturdy and everything folds and fits perfectly. It is a bit heavier than I thought it would be, but that's fine. It's also a perfect place to use with my Android tablet and stand. It makes it the perfect height to read or answer emails, play Words with Friends, etc. I am very happy with this desk. Also, just in case anyone is wondering what size paper to fit into the slots, half sheet letter size paper works perfectly.
