★☆☆☆☆
Not a thesaurus.
The author's knowledge on tropes is not in question, she knows them very well. This book is not a thesaurus. I saw no detail on what is in each trope. No hints on what is expected in a trope for "saving the princess" trope. There were no suggestions on how to work with "any port in a storm" trope. Nothing to help you actually pick a hand full of tropes and implement them. As a point of reference I use the Conflict Thesaurus By Puglisi & Ackerman you look up a type of conflict and you get information such as basic examples, how to show it, what consequences (if any) could happen. Again, the author's knowledge of tropes is not in question. I got more information from tvtropes.org on how to exercise a trope. This is my opinion.
