We live in Pittsburgh, PA. Not exactly the sun capital of the US. On May 8th of 2015 we purchased 2 Keter Corfu Chairs, 1 Keter Corfu Loveseat, and 1 Keter Corfu Coffee Table. Initially, it looked very nice. Assembly was not the easiest and the panels that hid the plastic screws kept 'popping' off. Eventually, we just left them off. At the end of the 2015 warm season, the furniture looked a bit 'weathered' so, we bought covers to protect the pieces through the winter. As the 2016 spring season broke, we uncovered the furniture and were surprised that, even though it was covered, it actually looked a bit worse. As we needed other outdoor furniture, for another location, we definitely did not want to invest more money in Keter furniture. It just wasn't holding up. Very disappointing. So, we purchased some pieces of the Suncast Elements collection to try. At the end of the 2016 warm season, the Keter furniture had faded yet further. It also began to develop white blotches. Again, we covered it and, at this point, began to feel it looked better with the winter weather covers on it. The 2017 spring season broke and, to our satisfaction, the Suncast furniture pieces looked as good as the day we put them together. Unfortunately, the Keter furniture, even though covered, had faded still further. Now it had crossed the border of 'embarrassing!' Our home has four outdoor areas where we can entertain guests. In 2017, we decided to take the Keter area off of the list for guests and just use it ourselves. Although, because it was so disappointing to look at, we used it very little ourselves in 2017. However, to Suncast's delight, we purchased many more pieces of their Elements collection. Today is May 6th, 2018. Just three entire years since we bought the Keter furniture. I believe that, if we were to keep it long enough, it would completely fade to white. (See attached pictures. Note some 'unfaded' Suncast pieces in the background). We now have 29 pieces of Suncast Elements Outdoor Furniture. This year, we will replace the 4 'faded' pieces of Keter Corfu Furniture with four pieces of Suncast. If you are looking for durable outdoor furniture that can stand up to weather... DO NOT PURCHASE KETER CORFU!
