Not impressive - Not even a drawer. A fine example of LAZY engineering.
What is it? It's an acrylic cube with another acrylic cube shoved up inside it. Problem 1: Friction. And Engineering laziness. I thought this would be like the jewelry acrylic drawers where there is a slide that the drawer fits into, and when you remove it, the drawer glides out. That's a big deal. In the case of the acrylic jewelry boxes, the drawer isn't just resting in the space with acrylic rubbing on acrylic. Instead, it's is suspended (as drawers should be) on little drawer slides. These have no drawer slides. It is literally just one cube, pushed into the larger cube. When you slide it out, it rubs the sides and bottom, creating friction and more of an unnatural pull. This also means that replacing the drawer creates friction. There isn't a smoothness to the glide. It's a tug to get out, a shove to get it back in. At this price point? Seriously? Problem 2: Did no one in the engineering department have a ruler handy on design day? The outer cube is a full inch longer than the inner cube. You an actually see how ill-fitted the inner cube is (I refuse to call this a drawer) compared to the outer drawer. Maybe if this were an opaque set, that wouldn't be noticed. But it's a acrylic....see through..... We can see your laziness people. Problem 3: One set arrived damaged. This one I'll let go. It's acrylic after all, and doesn't like to be dinged, even in a well-padded environment. I can't fault the padding attempts as the boxes were reasonably packaged. Just know to look for it. I think it's just misleading to call this a drawer. If the only thing this was meant to provide was a stackable see-through storage device, there are other items out there. For the price, keep looking. They make stacking acrylic with hinged lids (just do a quick search...I'm not going to name drop here), that would satisfy that purpose. Overall, give this a pass until the brilliant engineering team decides to add the drawer slides to ethically call this a "drawer". As it stands, it's more like the fabric cubes that sit inside cubbies - but no one has the audacity to call them "drawers".
