PROBLEM: Black particles made of PTFE Teflon are appearing when you blend clean water
I think everyone needs to be aware of a problem that is occurring with these blenders. Vitamix is having an issue with a seal or something related to the blade assembly. If you blend some clean water and pour it into a white dish a bunch of black specs or flecks will appear. Vitamix has reported the specs are from a food grade or food safe material PTFE, which is teflon. I don't know about you, but consuming teflon with my smoothies defeats the purpose of buying this in the first place. For full disclosure I purchased my refurbished vitamix directly through vitamix. Now vitamix apparently is offering to replace any container with this issue, but they can't guarantee that a replacement won't have the same issue and there are reports that some people have gone through several containers with no resolution to this point. I debating on whether to get a replacement or a full refund. I just unboxed my blender and did the test, but I'm thinking I'll seek a refund until Vitamix fixes this quality control issue. Just think about how many businesses use Vitamix blenders and are serving up teflon smoothies! You can google vitamix black specks test for some video on the issue and here's a thread with some info on the subject as well. My goal is not bad mouth vitamix, but they need to respond to this problem and people need to be aware of it. I encourage anyone who has a vitamix to do this test and contact vitmix via as many outlets as possible so they can know that this is unacceptable to their customers. [...] [...] [...] [...]
