Failed after just one month
UPDATE: I disassembled the cable to try and repair it, and it turns out the point of failure was actually one of the small pins on the adapter. The pin failed to retract and was thus unable to form an electrical connection with my MacBook. To have this part fail after just one month is very disappointing as the pins in the OEM version were never a problem. The only good thing I can say is that the internal wiring was fine.
-----------
This cable seemed promising at first. Installation was straightforward (I opted to splice the wires rather than crack open the AC adapter) and the cable worked great at first. However, the L-shaped connector on the cable has the same flaw as the original Apple cable in that the internal wiring eventually becomes disconnected over time, except at a much accelerated rate. This replacement cable lasted me just one month and I was being very careful not to put too much strain on it. Disappointing. Spend your money elsewhere.
