I bought this for making margaritas and because I adore the little dash appliances (like my rice cooker). It does shave the ice, but it makes a bit of a mess and is annoyingly loud. If you have a blender or something like a NutriBullet then I wouldn't recommend this item. It WILL just end up being another useless appliance that sits in your cupboards or pantry taking up space.
